I recently went here to fix oilpan leak, complete front spindles work (brake pads, rotors, grease repacking, reseal), front seal replacement, flush all fluids including both axles. Price was really reasonable and they definitely know their LC stuff. The shop owner and their mechanics personally own multiple LCs.

California/ SF Bay Area.
I want to add Julio at Emerald City Auto Body to the mechanic's list. Paint and body is probably not the first thing that comes to mind with your Cruiser, but my paint was literally wearing through, and I was using Testor's paints to touch it up! I decided to bite the bullet and started calling and taking my truck all over the Bay Area for quotes. Many of the shops said they couldn't paint it, they only work with insurance, totally common around here from what I found out. One shop did but recommend Julio, though. San Francisco, where life is expensive, I thought no way, but, to Julio's credit, he was happy and excited to do the work. He'd never painted a LC before and wanted the chance.
The price he quoted was significantly less than 10K, which, by comparison to what I'd been quoted, felt like stealing.

He, of course, fixed all the blemishes which I expected. It was the little details; He cleaned and painted my side mirrors, painted the radiator and support, and the rear cross member of the frame just so it would look right once the rest was completed. We had not discussed doing any of this work, he just did it so it would look complete in the end. He even knocked out a dent in my bumper that I wasn’t even aware of! Also, Julio sent me pics every couple of days to keep me updated, and he even told me to come by and look at the work in progress. I did! I missed my truck. The guys in the shop would step back for me or show what they’d been working on. It was a great experience, and my truck looks great too!

Anyone have suggestions for a cruiser mechanic in Michigan? Preferable SE Michigan.
I’m in Akron, OH if you are able to get it to me(I can pick up depending on the size of the job as well)

It’s been a relatively soft opening and am working out of the sister shop until my workshop is ready. I have an opening for later this month.
