Anyone else going to CruiseMoab 06? If so, what about getting all of the 100's together for one of the days to run the same trail? I have already signed up, but could change one of my days if we had a group that wanted to do a different trail.

Currently, I have registered for the following trails. You have to give three choices for each day when you register.

Day One:
1 - Fins & Things
2 - Gold Bar Rim
3 - Poison Spider Mesa

Day Two:
1 - Gold Bar Rim
2 - Fins & Things
3 - Poison Spider Mesa

Day Three:
1 - Poison Spider Mesa
2 - Hell's Revenge
3 - Cliff Hanger

It would be pretty cool to get a 100 group together for a trail ride. Let me know if any of you are going and want to do this.

If it was me and I was taking a 100 and its my first time in Moab I would do ...

Day One - Fins and Things - Easy nice warm up
Day Two - Hells Revenge - Harder
Day Three - Poison Spider - Medium

I would avoid Cliff Hanger "if" the first line above was true.

Just my two cents to someone that is new.

Below is a link from CM04 - Hells Revenge - Hells Gate (this is optional)

In CM04 we did Fins an Things on Wednesday with the NorCal group. Golden Spike Day 1 - Hells Revenge Day 2 and Moab Rim Trail Day 3.

You guys have fun and be safe.

How long's that drive gonna be for you Greg?

That's wheelin' commitment right there.

a non-armored non-lifted 100 will likely sustain some damage with anything more serious than FnT and HR, and would likely drag its tail on those, I would think.
I saw one that took some serious body hurt last year, don't know where though.
I would go easy if it's somebody's first time...

which one is the one with Lion's back at the beginning again, is that HR?

Yeah, Hells Revenge starts & ends at the Sand Flats Rec. Area entrance (approx.). HR is easily done in a 100 with some tail dragging, no worse than FnT! If I were driving a non-wild 100 on Hell's, I'd skip the last squeeze obstacle personally.

if you mean the gully at the very end, that squeeze is interesting. Not too bad, but I can see that one could do some real hurt on the sides if inattentive...
can it be bypassed?

Yeah, you can bypass it. I drove it just over Thanskgiving and (sadly) had to make a few attempts at it in my 80 to get through. A lot of wear made some interesting turning and strattling.

Holy Smokes!! Looks like that 100 in the first page cleared Hells Gate (?) cleanly. Anyone know what mods it has?

The COlorado 80 2 pages later looks like it had a bit of drama. What was the deal, lifted too high? It looks to me like the one guy helping out is actually severly under the Cruiser? Yikes!

Lions Back is at the campground near the entrance for Sand Flats. Hells Revenge trail passes by Lions Back near the exit. I think there would be a few spots on hells Revenge that might give some attention to a 100. As far as I could tell from last year, all the side trail around the exit for Hells has been close off. We ended up going through the tight part, forget what they call it...

The 100 you are referring to had at the time stock t-bars cranked up and have been upgraded to OME T-bars since then - and 863OME Coils (from an 80 Series) in the rear. At the time it had 35x10.50x16 SSR tires. It has custom bumpers front & rear. It did clear Hells Gate with no problems and so did all the cars in that line up.

The other photo you are referring to - the 80 got a little high and the guy underneath was hanging on to his sliders because we thought it needed some weight but everything was fine. It looked more dramatic than it was. The driver - Robbie was in control the whole time and we were able to bring the truck down safely from that particular line and was able to clear the obstacle with no problems at all.

Oh I forgot to mention the truck has a factory locker in the rear and an ARB in the front.

seems like the cowboy hat guy was indeed way under the truck. Not safe at all.

Tad,
Sorry, I completely missed your post. Yeah, it's gonna be a haul. On Thursday 4/27, we're going to drive from Louisville to the Grand Canyon. We'll stay there, camp and tour around until Tuesday 5/2 and then drive to Moab. We'll wheel there through the weekend, and then on Sunday head for home, arriving late Monday night. All together, it should be around 4000 miles. :)

I'll be taking my 4 year old son and my Dad along for the trip. We'll be camping most of the time. It should be a great trip if everything goes well. Its definitely putting some pressure on me to get my 100 ready to go the way I want it. But, I have about 4 months to get everything ready.

I've been wanting to go to Moab and the Grand Canyon for a long time. It looks like Cruise Moab is a very well run event and I couldn't be any happier with my 100. I think it is the perfect vehicle for this trip.

That is an awesome trip. I'd like to do the same with my wife, wanted to do it last year, this year too but my workload hasn't allowed me to make it happen, YET. I know it is a huge commitment to pull all of that together but getting to experience that with your father and your son will be something none of you will ever forget.

Shotts you ran CM05 in the 100 what trails did you do last year? What are you doing this year?

I ran GSpike and FnT then returned home a day early and missed Hell's thanks to my dealer that screwed up my CV boot/joined.

Fins is a total tail dragger...though easy.

The fist part of Poison was really fun and semi challenging, though to miss GSpike and it's obstacles is a mistake IMO. I'd suggest you all run Spike instead of Poison.

I'll probably not be there this year. Next time I return though it'll the LX450's turn to run stuff.

Gold Bar Rim is not as easy as it used to be, should be bumped up by 0.5. There's a big ledge in there that'll have ya' draggin'.

Yes. Yes. I thought that once we finished Spike that the Gold Bar exit was going to be cake. It was rocky, it had challenging spots, and yes...when we came upon that huge ledge and had to go UP it we were surprised.

My opinion was to take the steeper right side. The first few tried the left...too rocky...to line-critical. We all zipped up the right side after that. It was not difficult at all. Pull up...line up...GO!

You can run Spike in it's entirety with TRAC and 18PSI. :)
