I thought it’d be fun to post up stories, wins and losses and pictures for folks who are interested.
My son and I used this as a week long Father/Son trip celebrating his 13th bday this week.
We had a blast with some ups and downs. We ran one of the pre event trail rides the Kokopelli Trail with a great group of Cruiserhead’s. It was an awesome way to see a few trails like Dome Plateau and Top of the World. For sure a win.
We broke a rear u-joint on Top of the World but I carry a spare and we were back up and running in an hour or so… one of the best views in Utah in my opinion.
The next day while pre running Poison Spider Mesa, Golden Spike and where eagles date… I broke good. Busted the front passenger CV axle and the rear driveshaft at the same time. Recovery was slow but uneventful. Broke around 1pm got into camp with the rig around midnight.
The whole crew at Cruise Moab was awesome, they rounded up parts on my behalf and helped whenever We needed it. I can’t think of a better place to grenade your rig.
We spent the next day or so gathering parts and fixing the rig. This was a bit of a low for us as we missed Elephant Hill which is my favorite trail ever and I wanted my son to see it.
Things picked up the next day when we won BIG at the raffle… actually, 406 had a great showing at the raffle I think most people in our crew won something. That took the sting out of the breakage for us… we went to bed happy.
12 year old dreams… he got to drive it.
Broke but not “broken” taught Dax the term “embrace the suck.”
Fells feel free to post up your experience and pics!
