is it possible?

Yes, why not.
Eventually aftermarket like JohnGold Gold Automotive, welcome

I installed it myself, the system has three presets and I'm very happy with it.
As this is a Dutch company it may not be convenient for you to get one of these, but I'm confident there are many more out there.

I just bought an FJ60 that appears to have an aftermarket cruise system on it. The parts under hood look good, but there is a unit under the dash that is hosed so I cant try it out. Ive never seen one before.

You obviously have internet access, go find Alta Vista translation website. Use google to find it.

Those pages are available in English as well.
There is a option in right hand top corner (flag)

Strange, I thought I provided the english link but I now see it displays the Dutch pages so you will have to use the language option.

I never went for the original cruise control. I don't even think it's an option for the HZJ73.
I bought this unit (AP 300 and 3 speeds-presetunit CM 7 see:
Gold Automotive, 1 and
Gold Automotive, 2

(don't forget to select the language at the top of the page) about 8 years ago and it cost me about 140 Euro's at that time. Don't know what price it is at this moment. Will be a lot more expensive now I assume.

I did a cruiser on a BJ60 a couple years ago, it worked out very well.

There are kits out thier for 24 volt systems, just not sure where to look.

Good luck.

Tell me this, if not for comfort when on a highway that is flat and endless for hours how nice it is to move your feet around and get comfy.

I like cruise and would happily put it into any of my diesels if I ever kept them long enough... Oh ya the 81s come with cruise and I use it all the way to the ski hill and back.

Exactly. I do a lot of ice fishing and other long highway trips and it can get pretty uncomfortable after 3 or 4 hours. I don't think the truck was designed for people over 6'.

Sad to see what is going on in this thread.

Wether you like a cruise control, crawlergears, polished chrome, Spring-overs or whatever, or not, this is below the general behaviour in this forum.
People get here to find advise or to help others with their cruisers not to be played down for what they like or find handy.
I can imagine that you think a cruise control is just for p****s, I think that way about an A/C or a fridge in a rig. But then I live in a moderate climate so have hardly any need for it. The moments I'm traveling the Sahara, I think differently. :p
I use my rig to tow my caravan as well as making long trips over long distances and off-roading.
I can assure you if you are driving for hours and hours at the same speed the cruise control is a relief. But even here in western Europe, driving freeway or city it helps me to watch the abundant speed limits. That's why I have the three presets.
Besides that, it's proven that a cruise-control helps in saving fuel, good for the environment.
So I'm a p***y now?

If you dislike the things someone else likes, discuss it, but please keep it to the point. I don't get here to read many of the things I've read above.

Im 6,2 and my legs go to sleep in a 73 and the 75 is even worse as you cant recline the seat.
I had a cushion made from high density 100mm foam and covered in heavy duty corduroy.
I lifts me up and further from the pedals and I can now do 2-3 hour stints with no leg numbness:D
It is also great offroad;)

As for the lovers tiffs, the forum owner is in a banning mood with no warnings. Two got their marching orders last week and 5 others got 7 day suspensions;)

Ok let's keep this on track, or next move is just to delete the thread.

I like the audiovox cruiser control. That's what I am thinking of putting on my BJ60. I know it might not hold on hills, but for the boring flat stuff I think it should work nicely.

Will not every cruisecontrol disengage at some stage?
Mine does as well. As soon as the speed drops for more than 15 km/h (about 10 M/h). I think it's a safety-precaution as to avoid overboosting the engine. If the speed keeps dropping despite having full throttle it's time to shift gears.
In an auto it should downshift by itself.
