The 2005 Triple Bypass trip is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th. The Triple Bypass is a fast paced marathon type trip where we drive Pearl Pass, then Taylor Pass, then Italian Creek Pass, in that order, returning to Crested Butte late Saturday afternoon where we meet at the brew pub downtown.
As in the past, base camp will be Crested Butte. We leave from the visitors center at the east end of downtown Crested Butte at 8:00 AM Saturday and head south out of town for the Pearl Pass trail.
This run totals 54, four wheeling miles, not including miles driven to get to, from, and between trail heads.
All three passes can be driven in a stock, trail ready truck with good tires, and a capable driver. Bring a lunch and water. Drivers in open trucks may want to bring rain gear. CB channel 4.
