Just figured I would post up a pic of the simple tool I built to hold the crank for loosening and tightening the crank pulley nut for various services. I know there are other methods out there, but this just works. No hoping the breaker bar doesn't break, or the socket on the torque converter slips or splits.

It works well: Just shove it up from under the truck, hang it from one bolt and use the breaker bar and 30mm socket to tweak the line up to thread second bolt. it rests on the ground for loosening, and simply stepping on it while torqueing allows for easy use. two 25mm 8mm x 1.25 pitch 10.9 bolts and a few spacer washers are all it takes to mount it up.

The two 8mm bolts are 89mm apart, and the big hole is 2.125" although something like 2.375" would allow for the crank bolt washer to pass through.

Arm was a piece of scrap U channel from IMS, and plate is 3/16" 6" x 6"

If you're in the SoCal area and would like to borrow the tool let me know.

Excellent work. I love to see a simple and elegant solution implemented.
