When I pull the pump I dont see a float type area like a cruiser carb. Can you discribe what it should look like? Is it in the diaphram? It does seem like the inlet needle is stuck. Can the inlet needle section be seen from the throat of the (there is a hollow shaft that usually sprays gas down the throat is this it?) carb?

yes understood.
I was asking about the inlet needle if it is stuck,Where is it and how would I get to it, to clean it?

does anybody have a briggs and stration blow up of the carb?? So I can see where the inlet needle is??

I had the same issue with mine- a can of spray carb cleaner and running it and its all good. Carb is probably gummed up.

I just had a similar issue with mine- it would surge and only run if it was choked off, but would run ok with a steady dribble of carb cleaner. I pulled it apart and the emulsion tube was varnished up. I ran a fine piece of wire down the tube, then sprayed carb cleaner through it and the mower now runs great.

Yes.
I am going to pull the carb tomarrow and get to the inlet needle next.... we have alcohol in our gas here
so the needle is most likley rusted stuck

getting gased

carb pulled all parts clean, float, floats, needle clean. gas gets into bowl but still not getting into the motor:mad:. I used carb cleaner and cleaned all that I could see even the 2 places in the bottom of the bowl:bang: fuel pump works fine
other options:meh:

By needle you mean a tube that runs from a circuit in the float bowl to the venturi? if that's open, some gas should be getting into the airstream into the carb and it should run at some level, even rough.

I agree but its not...

yes the plugs are dry

I can pour gas down the carb and it will run until it runs out of gas

this is irritating................

fresh fuel is in. I pulled the Inlet needle and recleaned it with a q-tip and put it back together and viola it runs good once again...
yes that brass tube was what was not geting gas through it..... carb cleaner doesnt always work

Big thanks to all you guys for your help!!
