Cracking in "C" pillars (1 Viewer)

I would like to add stop drilling the ends of the crack as well as rust reformer and some type of seal up.

since we are playing the necro game and bumping old stuff i found this funny. how the times have changed...
now that 80's can be bought for 2 grand its not so much of a problem now

You know I saw this thead and just looked at it for the 1st time tonight, out of curiosity. I've had a Yakima roof rack with a Load Warrior basket since 2000 & in 2012 it somehow morphed into a RTT . I just went out and scoped my '94 out and mine on both sides is maybe a blemish in the paint, at the most. I'm doubting that roof racks make this any worse. My 125 lb RTT has been on my truck constantly since 2012 and last year I added a Alu Cab 270* awning which adds another 60 lbs along with other mods to the Yakima roof rack. I estimate there's close to 200 lbs carried constantly on my roof now. If there's some that are cracked and getting worse, it's probably inherited from the factory and by now, nothing you could do about it, besides what a body shop could do on your dime. Hell, all US spec 80s are over 20 yrs old. By today's standards, if it's still on the road, there's a few more priorities before cracks in your "C" pillars.
Edit: I forgot to mention, when my fat a$$ is sleeping in the RTT, the roof is supporting about double the 200 lbs.

Yep, in our case, keeping up with the frame, axle bracket, etc, cracks, cosmetic C pillar cracks are not much of a worry!

Looks like its there on mine its a 1996 with sub 170k miles.

Just checked mine. Sliver of a paint crack on one side. Same sliver, but with a little bit of rust showing other side. Going to do what Cruz recommended. Danke.
Went out and checked mine, about a 1/2 inch thin crack on either side with rust inside. Very similar to the pictures above. Will get around to sealing it up eventually. '94, 219k miles

Ospho... do I just dab it or what's the right process for a small sliver of rust?
Remove loose rusted metal and/or sand to expose all possible rust. Paint on Ospho generously on any rusted metal and allow to dry. Repeat. Repair (Silkaflex) and/or prep for painting. Paint.
1997, 164k miles, no crack on either side. Never been offroaded. Only had a load on the roof once for several hundred miles during a family vacation.
