Dont be scared off by a little rain, whats the worst that could happen? :flipoff2:

all depends on how high the creeks go.... There are multiple ways into the area.
I'm sure Andy has some alternative trails if you can't get in through the creek bed we normally go in by.

I'm in

Truthfully, I'm not too worried about high water being an issue. I'm more worried about playing slip and slide all the way through The Cove and having to camp in the rain.

Ok, who has a projection system. I can some movies (not the adult kind, as I will have junior with me), but more like action, guy films, etc.
Yeah, maybe we all just camp in Andy's garage Friday night and get an early start on the trails Saturday...:hmm:

I think the weather is going to be just as bad Saturday as Friday. If you're going to get wet anyway, might as well go in as early as you can and wheel.

Hell yes! i'll put everyone to work cleaning this damn place up.

The more i watch this weather system the less i worry about it.

looks like my little guy will also be with me (4yrs old.)

weather is looking better, 80% change rain friday morning, scattered for fri night and sat only 50%. looks like i'll be making the trip!

i've got another guy interested in going but he has a stock Tahoe. he's gone with me to PCooper before, crossed the creek and up all the rocks and i was surprised how good it did. only prob he had was the mud areas had no traction with street tires. would this trail be something his truck would make?

I'll let Andy and Rick make the real call on this, but I'm going to say no, this would not be a friendly trail to that Tahoe. The truck might make it, but it would very likely be missing front and rear bumpers and have some very "custom" rockers by the time he got back to pavement.

For me, I'm almost certain I'm going to have to bail out now. I love water crossings but my truck isn't set up for it yet. Plus I just checked the bank account and, after searching around for a while, found nothing in there :meh: If I had enough fuel already in the tank of the tow rig, I'd still come.

What a waste of a free 3-day weekend! ARGH!!

Not recommended. Certain sections are riddled with mud holes and being as big as a Tahoe might make it hard to dodge some of those holes. I got stuck here a couple times with big mud tires.

broke a CV axle in this hole trying back out of it.

was trying to get to level ground to swap out the broken CV

Dang Rick, I don't think I've EVER seen it that dry! That hole swallowed Roger's 60 once last year.

In case you haven't been in a while, that mudhole/trail in the back left of the first pic is THE way to go now. Unless you have 40's+ and plenty of HP, you aren't likely to make any of the holes in the open. Alternatively, if you have dual lockers, good flex, and high clearance, you can cross all the ruts at an angle but even that gets dicey with how slippery things are.

I've got to change my arrival time this weekend. Trying not to upset the logistics for everyone else, but I can't make it up there until Saturday morning.

So I figure Andy, Andrew and Sean can all meet up Friday evening and set up camp on the trail if its not too rainy to do so. I'm mudshipping a transmission to Andy this weekend. If it doesn't upset anyone in the group, I'd like to meet y'all at Andy's shop so I can unload the trans before getting on the trails. Then we can wheel all day Saturday and set up camp in the same spot or somewhere different.

What say y'all?
