pulled the old selectros off my '79 FJ40 and replaced them with some stock assian(sp) manual locking hubs. Found out that I didn't have all the parts when doing this-- was missing the flanged star washer, the star gasket, so now I need to pull the hubs back off to add these. In reading the Haynes manual, it says I need to lift the axle off the ground when doing this work. Do I really need to do that since I'm not doing a knuckle rebuild or anything like that. Thoughts?
