Not really all that techy, but I figured I'd get a better response for the specific tire size on this forum...

Anybody had luck with the Costco tire chains fitting 285/75/16s?

The fitment guide doesn't list that size, but it shows that it will fit several other tires that I would think would be larger than a 285/75-16. I'd love to buy the RUD chains, but I ran out of time and we're headed to the mountains this weekend. Too much snow for my Revos, I'm afraid.

Les Schwab carries chains just like the RUD's and have a perfect fit for 285/75-16's. Just make sure you get the large diameter chains because they have 2 sizes. I can get you the part number tomorrow if needed.

I just ordered a set of these myself. I'm fairly certain the 1707's will fit. But they are the largest size available, so if they don't fit, you're out of options as far as Costco is concerned. At least they have a great return policy. They even give you all your s/h charges back! Of course that doesn't help you in the mountains if your chains don't fit. I ordered mine on Monday, they shipped Tuesday, and are expected to be delivered on Thursday. That's pretty fast service, but I doubt you'll receive them by the weekend if you order this late in the week. I don't think they are available in the warehouse this year either, at least in Boise anyway. E-com only I believe.

Item #2533 for 285/75-16 and expect to pay about $219 for a set of four if you know your local Les Schwab salesman, may be more if you are just a regular Joe. Ladder style chains will be cheaper but if you plan on keeping them and using them I highly recommend the 2533's.

I saw some at Walmart a few weeks back that listed 285/75-R16

Costco was a no-go. As said above, they are only available at Costco-Online. Bummer. They looked like a decent chain for the money.

Les Schwab is going to take my dead battery back without a receipt and give me 80% toward a new one, so that loosens up the purse strings for chains a little. The RUD-type chains are $112 a set, no shipping, no tax. I'll post back with a report next week if I end up using them.

Thanks to all for the input.
