I'm wondering if there would be a range of egt temps based on where the pyrometer is installed?
Could some locations give higher or lower readings than others?
Boring question, I know, but have always wondered how wide that range could be....
Thanks!

As @coldtaco stated it makes a big difference. I’ve read reports of 150-300 degrees F difference in pre vs post turbo readings.

The further you are away from that exhaust manifold, the colder the temps will be. The closer, the more accurate the EGT will read.

That’s why people install as close as possible in the manifold and in the middle of the exhaust stream as possible.

Yes. Straight from the Safari install guide:

A commun cyl reading prob give a temperature a little higher than an individual cylinder (read an addition).
