Swapped out my speedo gear for the "correction gear" offered by Slee.

Maybe it's a placebo effect, but it seems to me that my 80 is shifting a little less and the shifts might be a little smoother.

It is particularly noticeable when driving up a hill. 2nd and 3rd gear run a little longer, and I'm less likely to jump back and forth between 2 and 3, 3 and 4.

Could adjusting the speedo from -5% to about -1.2% produce a perceivable difference in shift points?
Or am I just making myself feel good?

I have asked about this before and I believe I was told that it does in fact effect the shift points. I will be doing this soon as well, I noticed the shift points change when I added the 285's.

I put the gear in right after the tire swap to 285's and at my elevation (town 4500ft, my house 5000ft) it feels the same, power, shifts as it did with the worn out 275's.

Yes. This is more noticeable at higher elevations.
