Corolla Carib Transmission (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I've got a 1991 Toyota Corolla Carib RHD from Japan and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the transmission is the same as the NA equivelant?

How about asking the guy at Mustang Connections in Armstrong, BC. He has imported a few of those and also is heavy into selling parts now.

Good idea! I already asked him if he has one for the Carib and he doesn't, but it never dawned on me to ask if he knows if it's the same as the NA one. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ok it turns out that nobody I contacted knew whether the transmissions were the same or not. So....I bought one off a wrecker in BC, had it shipped to Edmonton, gave it and the car to my mechanic and a few days later he emailed me...it fits!! He said it was a direct swap and we now have the car back and it works fine.

I hope this helps anyone else who needs to replace the transmission. For the record I bought a 1991 4wd automatic transmission (for model AE95 if I remember correctly).
