For those who wanted to know how my "new" cooling system worked. New thermostat, 3 core brass rad, and fan fluid coupler. Well in a word, perfect. I pulled my boat with a loaded weight of 4000lbs about 1000 miles over some steep passes etc. Even with the a/c on full blast and running hard up hills in the 3500 to 4000 rpm range, the temp guage did not move and the a/c kept an ice cold breeze on my face. As an added bonus the truck seemed to have more pulling grunt than before.
Before I made these changes I would get warm running temps and the a/c would start blowing warm air :'(, and I would not even be pulling a load.
All this cooling in a S/C engine .
