This is my first post here, sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm new to this vehicle and its community. Will the coolbox armrest lid from a 2013-2020 LX570 also fit the 2008-2011? I'm having a hard time finding a used one that's reasonably priced. Thank you for any help!

Why the replacement? There are recent posts on here about repair of lids that don't stay closed.

And WELCOME!

It stays closed just fine, it's the driver's side slider that won't operate. I don't have much in the way of mechanical skills and don't have the faintest idea how to try taking it apart. I doubt I could put it back together if I got that far! I just figured if I replaced the whole lid with one that works, problem solved.

There are also threads for repairing the slider, but they aren't exactly for the faint of heart.

Mechanically speaking, I am the very definition of “faint of heart”. I should have led with the part numbers being the same, but I’m new to this forum and I’m trying to figure it out as best as I can. I don’t know if all the parts are the same for all the years. and all that. Just looking to save money as well as time, both are short these days!

It’s probably not as bad as you think. Getting the lid off is pretty easy. Also, if your backup plan is to buy a new one, you don’t really have anything to lose attempting the repair.

This.

That said, it appears the "functional" part of the part numbers is the same, meaning they should interchange. What is different is the color codes (last 2 digits after the dash, ie -A2 or -A3, which are both for "ivory" suggesting there was at least a slight change in what ivory looks like). So yeah, if your repair goes sideways you should be able to source one from the pre or post-facelift and have it bolt on, as long as you can match up the colors. Looks like black didn't change, but all the other colors did, even if slightly.

Look at it like an adventure! (Seriously, jumping in head-first is how you learn mechanical stuff. And here you have nothing to lose)
