Guy in our club that's a Toy tech is doing a pretty cool engine swap. Customer has a 92 FJ80 and found a salvage Tundra. So, yoink the 3FE, insert one 2UZFE, add a Marlin Toybox, and it adds up to what should be a very cool truck. I don't know a lot of the details, but he'll prolly be putting it all together for a Toyota Trails article in the future.

The cost is supposed to be under $12k, and that's with 80 hours of labor. It sounds like kind of a pet project for the shop, so I think they're cutting him a deal where they can. The dealership has always been awesome to work with, especially on Cruisers!

Is Will doing it?

I've thought of that several times. I never thought about trying to use a ToyBox though. Until 55100 posted about his LX470 motor in his 55 I thought the sensors would be impossible. He said that I could get around them. The wheel sensors are what made me chicken out the first time.

Used Tundra V8s can be found for as little as $2500.

Is it possiable to get some contact info?
