I had somebody ask me in another thread how I converted my turn signals to DRL/turn signals. So here it goes. Not really a step by step but just a post with the diagram and stuff needed. Please note that we are on a lockdown here in Manila due to COVID-19 so I had to make do with what I already had at home since all the stores are closed.

DISCLAIMER: I am not liable for any damage or injury that may occur while performing or during the operation of this modification. Proceed at your own risk.

THINGS NEEDED:

-two relays, one must be SPDT, the other can be SPST. I used these:

Amazon product ASIN B01MTQNJKM
-DRL controller (optional)

Amazon product ASIN B010NEO5HQ
-1157 sockets Amazon.com: 1157 BAY15D Turn Signal Brake Light Bulb Socket Wire Harness Connector(Pack of 2): Automotive

-1157 LED switchback bulbs

-fuse holder and 5amp fuse

-automotive wire and split tubing to protect the wires

-LED Flasher relay Amazon.com: TOMALL 8Pin LED Turn Signal Light Flasher CF18 Electronic Relays for Toyota Lexus 81980-50030 066500-4650: Automotive

I couldn’t find the bulbs I used on amazon or ebay anymore so I didn’t post a link. Here’s what I used for reference:

Instead of a regular LED flasher relay, I used the SmartTap CF18 which added one touch signalling: Just installed SmartTap flasher relay and LED bulbs

Wiring diagram. Take note that the DRL controller is optional. You can use switched +12V in its place in pin 86 and ground pin 85 of relay 1. DRL controller just makes it easier since it hooks up directly to the battery and you have the added feature of having the lights stay on for a couple of seconds after shutting the car off

Additional note: the purpose of the second relay (SPDT) is to cut power to the DRL when the parking lights or headlights are switched on. If you want the DRL to always stay on, you can ditch the second relay and connect the output to the DRL to pin 87 of relay 1. Relay 1 can be a regular SPST relay.
