I have swapped the motors I put a pre obd2 motor in my 97 obd2 vehicle.

From memory
Crank angle sensor needed to be swapped with oil pan.

A motor mount needed to be swapped.

I used the vehicle obd2 harness.
This much easier then what the OP proposes
Putting a 97 Motor and transmission into a 93-94 chassis

Is the head and block the same, excluding any electrical and sensors, in all North American 1fzfe engines?

Beno confirmed Obd1 and 2 are the same engines.
Only sensors etc are different.

Why the desire to convert to OBD2?

For ease to turbocharge/supercharge?

For the life of me I don’t understand the obsession for going obd2 from obd1.

Some people say it’s easier to maintain which imop is false. Unless mechanical ability of the individual doing the work is the limitation?

Drop that obd2 in there with the obd1 sensors and call it a day.

Or am I missing something?🤷‍♂️

You get rid of the pesky 93/94 air flow meter. I think the 95-97s run better for some reason. I've owned about 50 80 series and the later models always seem to run a little nicer, but it could always just be the transmission that is fooling me. I'd want to use the A343f as well. What happened is I accidentially bought a rusty truck on Ebay but it has a rebuilt 1FZE and runs great. And yes it was an accident, I had Covid and was not of clear mind and bid on ebay. Not a clue that I even bought it a day later. Then since I couldn't go get it right away I paid. Big mistake on my part.
