I replaced the heater tees and hoses with OEM a year or so back but used the factory clamps on all of them. I've got a little seepage on a few. Can the constant force clamps be opened up so that I could install them without removing the hoses? I think I could pinch the existing clamps, put a little stainless strip of something between the clamp and the rubber hose for protection and dremel them off, but wondering if the new clamps would work like the normal alligator types and allow me to open them up to install-- if that makes sense. Will probably take 2x the time to just drain coolant and do it right, but just thinking..
Also, is this what everyone uses for these?
McMaster-Carr
Constant-Tension Clamp for Soft Hose and Tube
301 Stainless Steel, 9/16" to 1-1/16" Clamp ID
54205K11
The size will put it to the very bottom of the range for these hoses., but I don't find anything better.
