Consequences of bad battery balancer? (1 Viewer)

I just got 2 new batteries for my 24v BJ75 to replace the ones that it came with from europe.
I found this hiding behind one of the batts. It had been disconnected by some PO.
Should I hook it back up?

Or just get a new one?

Do cheap ones work well?
or is this something I should spend some $$ on?

Why did the PO disconnect it, thats the question. Batteries and electrical systems are expensive and time consuming to repair, so you need some quality to monitor it..

Thanks, that's definitely the one.

I can't think of a way to test it to see if it's working.

If it's not working and I hook it up, could it do positive harm, or would it just not do its job?

Im not good with electronics but you may be able to measure the voltage output, or just measure the battery charges under load to see if they are equal.
