You may be correct. I just remember I installing something like this little gizmo, but hide sight I don't remember why? Maybe I just did assuming they wouldnt work

Only reason could see that being used would be to add a amp to system where the headunit didn’t have low level preamp outputs. (RCA outs) you ever have a amp and sub hooked to stock headunit?
