I have been trying to replace the A/C belt on my 1989 FJ62. I am at a complete loss as to how to fix the problem. I previously posted but have not been able to figure out how to get the tensioner for the A/C belt to work. The tensioner nut sits right below the power steering pump. Cannot really access it very easily. It is just a 14 mm nut. The p/s bracket blocks the nut from being accessed from the top. I was able to get a shortened 14 mm wrench on it from the front. However, when I turn the nut, it does not appear the pulley is moving.
On a previous post, someone recommended that I tightened/loosen from the bottom. However, there is no nut on the bottom. All that is on the bottom is the threaded bolt end.
Removing the p/s pump seems to be illogical for getting to the tensioner. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.
