I have a Bump It Offroad tube bumper on the front of my 80 and just bought a Comeup Winch. There’s not really a good location to mount the control box on the bumper so I’m wondering what you all have done for mounting locations behind the grill. Anyone have pics they can post or ideas or the same setup with a good solution? Thanks! 👍

I remoted mine next to my second battery and added a switch in the dash. it works off either
Hood has to be up if im not using inside control.

Thanks. Do you have an pics of how you mounted it?

Recently mounted a Come Up on my Trail Gear tube bumper. Had a similar dilemma with the control box. Decided on a simple angle iron mount bolted to the plate on top of the bumper. Here's what it looks like.

I set mine up similar to @smritte

Washer bottle relocated Via slee relocation kit, control box is mounted on a custom mount utilizing the mounting points that washer bottle was mounted too.

Best part is the inside control switch , game changer

I also like the fact that you can't just come up to my rig plug in a controller and mess with my winch!!

It can be operated with a handheld with the hood opened.

Nice work on the relocations guys. Did y'all just extend the factory wiring or build new wiring to reach back into the engine bay from the winch unit on the bumper?

Getting prepped to relocate my controller on my Seal Slim 9.5RS/Slee ShortBus bumper...fits fine, but aesthetics are winning out and I want to tuck it under the hood. Leaning towards somewhere in between the battery/core support, but haven't checked available wire lengths, etc. to see what all is going to need modified.

Thanks!

My dad's winch (shown above, a "never used" 150€ eBay find) came with flimsy wires and a Chinese relay box, so i made new wires from 75mm² welding leads and he ordered an Albright winch relay.

A future plan ist to use the factory antenna up/down as winch control switch for in/out.
