Behind the Rocks - White Knuckle

I showed this to my wife and she said, "I can't believe you filmed yourself crashing the cruiser."

I'm not sure why the sound doesn't work. I wish it did...the sound adds a lot to this one.

Graham -

Great pics! That was a great trip. Glad you got the video of the Lexus on White Knuckle Hill. It was a little unnerving the way the back end shifted over when your front tires hit the ground.

Let's go again!

Evan

definitely great pics! thanks. many of those were in spots i didn't have any of my rig on our camera. i'll bring the video i have to the meeting. it's short- only about 10-15 minutes.

here, i reduced a few more of others that i have. if anyone wants the full size version, let me know and i'll email it. the last one is me stacking rocks after scraping a hole in my soft top.:o

Anyone take pics of the roll?

Nobody got the roll on video. I think Ashleigh got it while it was flopped. Stuff happens very, very fast but at the time it seemed to happen in slow motion. You could see it go up... up... and when it started going over you knew it was all over. Everyone.... and I mean everyone was frozen. All you could do was hold your breath, hope the thing stopped rolling before it headed downhill rolling sideways (over me and into all of the HDC trucks!)

Creepy.

Graham went over to the driver to check and see if he needed medical help. The guy said he was OK and Graham said "Great... mind if we move your junk out of the way so I can drive my Lexus up this rock?"

Gutsy.

:D

Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony of the Jeep being towed to the event by what ammounts to a more capable vehicle?

the irony is not lost on this crowd.:D Ralph was new to Moab and did pretty good. but yes the Lexus that towed it did as well or better w/ half the mods. and towed/drove the highway part too and from.

Great pics and stories. I'm jealous. Although, I would have just slowed you down with my stock 60. Then again, tacosalad and I could have gone off to do something a little more mild when everyone else was hitting the hard stuff. Hopefully I can make it to the meeting and hear more great stories and see lots more pictures.

Carnage report

i forgot the Carnage Report! my carnage was- the front passenger seat broke on Golden Spike. the tab that bolts the front right floor mount broke and Jill could lean the seat back a little. i'll fix it now that we are home.
also on the Behind the Rocks morning, i awoke to a flat tire. turns out a small slice in the sidewall was leaking pretty fast. i put a plug in it and it's still holding air!
overall, a great no breakage trip for all. my tcase held up great fortunately.
