@2fpower Thanks for the follow-up! I haven't heard anything. I'm eager to report back, so I will as soon as I've gotten word.

@cruisermatt I appreciate the note. Of course, this makes sense and was on the table at one point. This truck has been a very strange experience so far and it isn't always clear what the best and/or most sensible way forward is. Maybe nothing about these is supposed to be sensible. When nearly everything is pretty much toast, the game of whack-a-mole is played in all three dimensions as you probably know. This is my first time on a journey like this one so I'm bound to make an incorrect call along the way. Despite this, being in the steepest part of the learning curve is my favorite place to be, as the learning is very apparent. I could very well wind up with new rear brakes AND a replacement rear axle. :p:oops::cheers:

These Raybestos drums that worked for @2fpower didn't work for mine. Red Line said they are showing about 5/8" of shoe.
This is moving toward an axle replacement.

Does anyone have a 60-series rear axle they want to unload?

That's a terrible idea. Get the correct rear axle housing for your truck. A 70 series rear axle housing, either semi-float or FF as Juan mentioned.

First I wondered about swapping the backer plate and all guts and it should work then, right??? ..... but then realized someone figured out a rear brake kit to swap to disc. -- who was that?

It would look weird to see the difference between the front and rear. Or just odd to use spacers/adapters on the rear only to make correction.

I appreciate these links, @2fpower I’m still puzzled that those raybestos drums worked for your Dana rear but not for mine. There must be some differences between the Ute axle and the 73.
Can’t continue pondering this.
Moving on!

@FJ73Texas making me look like an internet halfwit. 😜 Thanks!
Submitted the form to see what happens.

To be honest, I never used pampa direct but had the site booked marked. Looks very legit and online reviews are positive.

I have used similar services for getting packages from Japan and Australia easily though and never had a problem. (Buyee, and ausff.com.au)

They just responded and said at the moment, only listings originating from Argentina and Uruguay are available for their service.
