So I have a Ironman deluxe front bumper on my LX450 and due to the sand/gravel they use here on roads in winter is in need of some rock chips fixed. I was going to get it sandblasted and re powder coated so the chips don’t start it rusting. I was debating on powder coating it in a grey colour to match the cladding on my LX450. My LX450 is dark emerald green and grey metallic lower.
I have not seen a 80 with a colour matched front bumper and can’t decide if I’m going to regret this? The rear bumper is a vpr unit and is at the powder coat shop getting done in colour match now as I think it will blend in better. I was hoping for some opinions from the collective wisdom of IH8MUD. Thanks

Do it. I did mine. It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it. First real effort to paint paint something the right way. Got the 1A5 and 1A6 paint code colors from automotivetouchup.com and I’ll do the rear bumper once it’s finished. Then it’s on to raptor lining the rest with the tintable stuff to keep it looking somewhat like it did.

Do it!!!

my ARB needs some paint after 10 years.

I can’t decide to powder coat black or go gray to match the LX450 cladding.

hope you can be the test subject.

I vote yes. Only down side is touch up if you powder.

I’ve done 2 arb, my AOE and an IPOR now in BG2 powder and it’s a decent match to moon glow. Would probably also match your trim but perhaps a bit darker would match even better.

Here is a super old pic of ARB and IPOR

Thanks for the picture! I know it’s common on 200 series, GX models etc where the bumper integrates into the body much more but haven’t seen it on a 80 series.
