So after seeing a few offroad rescue videos where damaged valve stems were a problem these seem like something that should be in everyone's offroad emergency kit...

They have permeant ones that install from outside the wheel as well for the same price. No reason not to get the permeant ones right?

I viewed these as more of the item to have in the truck for when the inevitable rock or branch or whatever rips your valve stem out, Seems quicker and easier than changing the whole tire. But I guess installing them on a permanent basis is fine as well, but you'd still want a couple in your emergency kit. They look a bit bulky as well and may affect tire balance; so if going for permanent probably good to do just before a balance & rotate...
