I have complete third member from a late 60's early 70’s FJ40, 4.11 gear set, square pinion flange. Unknown history, feels pretty good and tight though. Pics available on request but nothing remarkable to show that I can tell.

$70 OBO, located in Orlando, willing to ship on buyers dime.

Did you confirm that these are 3.70 gears?!

Un momento sir

My bad, I recounted and the pinion is actually 9 teeth. 37/9 = 4.11. I’ll change the thread title.

Price drop to $50 because I also found a bit of minor surface rust on the ring gear. I think it would clean up fine with a steel brush

Yes. It's a 4.11 like every early FJ40 diff

While rare the early FJ40 was imported with a different diff gear ratio. Bought a front axle from a 68 as a spare for my 68. The friend who sold it to later asked.to buy it back. He sold the matching rear to another friend will a 62 FJ40. Wanted the offset diff. When he put it in 4WD front was out running the rear. They arena few other stories of early FJ40s have a higher geared diffs. Tried to get the set but friend had already gotten rid of the back axle.

i have 13 of those in the barn reason is shipping is to much and they are getting heavier every year
