Staying at Rausch

Couple of reasons for me. One way of saving money and the wife is planning on going this trip. This way if she says that's enough for her for the day it's a quick run up the hill to camp to drop her off.

my birthday i on sunday this year so it should be quiet saturday night, until midnight!!!

Staying at Rausch Creek, NOT at Judy's dump.

What does "primitive camping" mean? There's no info I could find on Rousch Creek's website.
Portajon?
Bathhouse?
Running water?
Anything?

A propane shower is another option. You can bring your own beer to RC, no screaming kids, and Mickey Bombs are encouraged.

I'm going. Staying at the Hampton Inn in Pine Grove.

Hey you guys this is a completely different camp ground off of exit 100 and it has very good reviews.
Just wanted to let you know sounded like a few of you thought it was at Echo Valley's Hell Hole

FYI. plfj40 and I visited the KOA while at the 4 Runner jambo this past weekend. I don't know who started this silly rumor that you can't bring your own alcohol to the KOA; and that you must purchase all your alcohol from them... But I can promise you it is only a rumor. Their rule that differs from Judy's, is that you can't walk around the entire camp ground with a open beverage. You can drink whatever you want to drink at your own camp site. So if you are camping in the group area and want to go across the camp ground to visit a buddy in a trailer or cabin, you can't make the walk with a open beverage.

The bathroom / shower facilities near the group area are brand new and super clean. You have a toilet, sink, and shower all in one personal unit. No porta s***ters. The primitive group camp area is a very large grassy field with NO tree cover. It appeared much larger than the group area at Judy's. There were four tables, and one fire ring. Not sure if they will supply more fire rings, or they want one communal fire in that area. I forgot to ask. Arrive early if you want to snag one of the tables. Bring an Ez-Up type shade device or you will be dealing with the sun till it goes down. I will post up some pictures tomorrow of the area and bathrooms.

For those of you staying at Rausch. For raffle night, or any other time you want to visit the KOA. You will have to pay $4.00 to visit the campground per day. The KOA is about 10 miles from Rausch Creek. You can avoid the four miles on 81 and take the back road through Pine Grove if you want. Instead of turning left to go to Judy's after the Exxon, you turn right and drive through Pine Grove. You pass the McDonald's, Arby's, and the Hampton Inn. The KOA is another 5 miles down the road after you pass those land marks.

That would be the manager at KOA we are working with to arrange the event.

We will be verifying one way or another this week.

Thanks for scouting. Being the first year there we still have some things to work out, but we're optimistic TG will be a big improvement over Echo Valley.

The group area. You can make out the water spigots, the small building across from the yurt is bathrooms. The bath house is down the hill. It is the wood structure with the deck around it. Tom got a picture of inside the bathroom, if he can get it off his phone he can post it up.
