I did an H55 swap into my '89 FJ62 about 10 years ago now. A couple of weeks ago my clutch cylinder failed. I ordered a new Toyota part, and out of ignorance, laziness, or most likely both I randomly ordered one for an '85 FJ-60 since I had to give a year. It turns out my truck is set up for an '87 or later cylinder. The bolt pattern is different so to get it to work I'd have to drill some new holes through my firewall. What would y'all do? Get the version that was there or modify for this one? Since it is a "special order" I am still waiting to find out if I can return it...

Put the least number of holes in your rig that you can get away with.
Order the correct one and if you cant return the other, plenty of folks to sell to on MUD.
👍

Get the right part. Not a fan of drilling new holes. Every cruiser part ordered from anywhere is a "special order". All that means is they didn't have it in stock and had to get it from the regional warehouse- like everyone else

Thanks for the input, I have some extra holes already due to rust, I won't drill any more...
