Hey all, i jsut got a 92 fj80 (3fe) and when i start it up, usually only when the engine isnt hot it makes a nice big clunk. My first thought was that it was the exhaust but i checked it and it isnt. I had a look around the engine bay and didnt see anything loose. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Can you get a video? This would help immensely.

Although guessing blindly, I'd say engine mounts.

Howdy! Is this when it is just idling, or when you drop it in gear, or hit the gas, or.....when?

only when i start it. It runs and drives fine. Ill try to post up a video.

Thanks.

I know you said it isn't the exhaust, however, the same thing started on mine sometime after I put on my new Slee sliders. Turns out it was one of the cats hitting the slider mount just when the engine fires up. The exhaust mount behind the back cat is rusted away and this allows the system to move enough to hit sometimes.
