I assumed it came in a kit, but it was never offered the times I inquired. Perhaps it's just me but I don't see how the Toyota version of those particular parts is going to be superior at 3x the cost

Maybe I’m not following, is that through a vendor on this site? I’m having trouble finding anything on here, or do you mean my local dealer? I’m in CT no mud discount here

I bought the kit from the parts counter at a Mr. T dealership. If I'd kept the receipt I could tell you the part number, but I lost the receipt, sorry.

I had a similar issue after a front bearing repack and discovered that it was my hub flange. The splines had worn enough on the driver side to allow for a small amount of play between the flange and my CV axle splines, so the first brake tap in forward or reverse would make a loud click. Solution was buying and installing one of these. Not sure of the root cause, but the spindle nut was a bit loose on that bearing when I tore it apart in my investigation.

Here’s the Napa kit, I think it was under $25 - doesn’t include new caliper pins or the 4 plastic shims (if you’re using pads without them on the back), but seems to have everything else

Just wanted to post an updated resolution for my issue. Everyone I tapped the brake I would get a click, rather loud, also at a slow roll til about 20 mph I would get a rotational
Click. Would start slow and speed up til it disappeared. I purchased the Napa kit mentioned above. I was missing the back prong plates and the top long thin pad holder things. Reinstalled both of those and no more click at low speeds or braking. So that’s one solution for me. Next is the e-brake cable rattle: any suggestions with this? It has slack in it and you can replicate the noise when you jiggle it. E brake still works, I use it most days. Thanks!

Had the same issue and recently upped my tires to 35's - clicking seemed to have gotten worse after doing so. I've replaced AHC with OME lift, torsion bars have nearly OEM recommended rake, replaced UCA's with SPC's, diff drop, sway bar extension links, new cv's, wheel bearings etc... Felt like a lot of the usually suspects were ruled out and finally followed your guys' advice and got the napa kit and installed it yesterday. During install I noticed the retainer clips for the pad retainers were nowhere to be found like you guys mentioned. Also that my passenger calipers didnt have the W clip and this is where the click was loudest. It's only been a day and a handful of miles but clicking seems to be gone I gained some MUCH better/spongier feeling brakes - night and day. Thanks for the help!
