Clear Lake - Silverton, Co (1 Viewer)

Does anybody know if you can camp up at Clear Lake, northwest of Silverton? I've been up there before in our 80 but wanted to camp up there in our RTT on the 100. Also, would snow still be hanging around up there first weekend in June?

As to snow, this has been a year of good snow pack. June can be questionable at that elevation. Maybe someone in the area will check in.

We used to go up there in the early 70's. Beautiful place!

Ha. Let me rephrase. I Googled it this morning and found that site (she needs tailgate help) and a few others with folks camping there. I was wanting to know if it is "legal" to camp there. I don't know the rules of Colorado camping in unmarked areas.

...and yes, amazing year for snow out there! I've been skiing 5 times this winter out there from Missouri and am heading back one more time next week. Amazing Colorado winter for ski resorts. cha-ching! $$$

I'm sure you can camp, but I wouldn't count on it in June. Silverton has been an it's own "island" for a few weeks now do to avalanches.
The snow is DEEP up there.

I'd be looking at first week of July as a more realistic time frame this year for that area.
