Cleaning a Gas tank (1 Viewer)

Well,
the inside of my tank looks like it sat in a bucket of salt water for 5 years, filterscreen is plugged, outlet ports are solid rust, Any way to clean all that garbage out of there and keep it from rusting again, or is it bettter to just replace?

Use the search - there are multiple threads dealing with this, covering everything from shipping it off for restoration, to having it boiled out and sealed, to DIY with products from POR and others.

Take it to a radiator shop. Have them flush it out and line it. Should be a lot less than a new one.

+1 - I am in same boat on rear 2nd tank, this is exactly what the verdict was in my research.

I have removed rust from small parts using the electrolysis method, simple, cheap and works well. For a gas tank, fill it with solution, insulate the tip and where it will touch the filler neck of a piece of rebar, hookup the battery charger and let it work.
