i'm finally selling my DD 80. i've had it for a few years, did a lot of tinkering with it, drove it daily most of that time but now it needs a new home. i got the 100-series i've wanted for a long time......

1991 FJ80 with 228k miles on it
5.7L vortec
4L60e transmission
OME lift
35" tires on polished aluminum rims
interrior in good shape
nice stereo and alarm
third row seats
very well maintained
runs and drives perfect, needs nothing
12-15 MPG ( but twice the HP! :grinpimp: )
Open diffs

in the last 5000 miles, i've done the following:

new paint
new window tint
new windshield ( rock chips )
rebuilt t-case
rebuilt knuckles with upgraded fr brakes ( 1994 fzj80 parts )
new OME caster correction bushings
new HD sway bar bushings
new fuel injector "spider"
new distributor
new cap, rotor, wires and plugs

.......you get the picture. this rig has been gone thru and is super reliable and fun to drive. CA smog legal with referee sticker in the door. current reg and insurance.

Some more pics, engine compartment is filthy right now. Just got it back from the body shop and haven't had a chance to clean it up.

OH Man! Looks great. I would love to have this, but you already know my dilemma... But the wheels are spinning.:hmm:
Delivery to Toronto?

Someone is going to get a sweet, well thought out and built rig.

GLWS.

Someone has to ask...MPG? Any better than the 3fe that was in there? Or any better than a 1fz? Looks like a great 80.

I would be all over this thing with the right balance in my checking account (as opposed to the wrong one I currently have) I'm not even sure I would build it up with armor and such (maybe a skid and some sliders) IT looks so sweet as-is.

Realistic milage is the same as any 80 with the original engine; 12-15mpg. I'm sure if you drove like a 90 year old granny you could get more.

But it does have twice the horsepower of a stock 80! :grinpimp:

what about FF / RR lockers ?

Original axles. Semi float rear. Open Diffs. Front brakes upgraded to 94 and up FZJ80 brakes.

I do have a set of factory e-locker axles if somebody is serious about this option. Obviously I'd have to get some money for them.

Original post updated.

Hi

A few more ?s

How many miles on the engine and transmission?
Looks like manually locking hubs?
Does it have a part time install on the transfer case?
What is the tire size and brand?
What wheels are they mounted on? 16 inch? Any spacers needed?
AC work?
Cloth interior?
Any interior photos?

What's cheaper -install ARB air lockers or install your e-locker axles?

Thanks and GLWTS:cheers:

A few more ?s

How many miles on the engine and transmission?
According to the previous owner, at this point the combo has 52k miles on it since it was installed. At the time of the conversion the combo had 14k miles on it. So right now there's 66k miles on them. The engine and trans work perfect. No noises, no problems, no smoke, no check engine light on ( it does work ).
Looks like manually locking hubs?
Yes, I installed a set of hubs from an FJ62 when I rebuilt the knuckles and upgraded the brakes.
Does it have a part time install on the transfer case?
It has a freshly rebuilt split case from an fj60.
What is the tire size and brand?
Wild country Radiat XTX 35x12.50x15 M/S with 80% tread and even wear. No defects.
What wheels are they mounted on? 16 inch? Any spacers needed?
15x10 forged aluminum not sure what brand. No spacers. Just polished along with the aluminum trim on the bumpers and rear bumper "step".
AC work?
Yes
Cloth interior?
Yes. Pretty good shape. One or two very small wear spots in the usual area on the driver seat. One crack in the dash. One very small hole in driver rear seat bottom. Rest is good.
Any interior photos?
Ill take some tomorrow if I get the chance. Or this weekend.
What's cheaper -install ARB air lockers or install your e-locker axles?
Probably the same by the time it's all said and done. I prefer ARBs along with an OBA system.

Rear driver side seat has a small ( what appears to be burn ) hole in it. This vehicle was never owned by a smoker and has never smelled like smoke. The hole was there when I got the truck 4 years ago.
