My ABS/brake booster/pump went out today leaving my pedal going to the floor and loud sound with ABS/Brake light on. I'm going to replace the entire unit, but has anyone ever replaced theirs with one from a V8 4th gen 4Runner, or GX470? It seems they may be interchangeable, but wanted to verify before pulling the trigger since they are easier to find. (I have tried searching and didn't see if anyone had chosen to use one)

Supposedly there IS a 4Runner that uses the same (or one that will work) set up. I read about someone here using one and it worked just fine. '02 4Runner maybe?

Enter the part number into a search bar on one of the various dealer parts websites. When the part populates, there is a tab you can select to see all of the vehicle variants that part fits. That might help narrow your search.

I have a used booster pump with accumulator in good working order to fit a 100 series. PM me if you are interested.

I had already ordered one when i saw this, but thank you! If the replacement to the first replacement I received today doesn't work out, I will be in touch.

If it’s just the pump that went out then yes it will swap over. You can go to a salvage yard and find one for cheap. I pulled mine out of a 1998 Lexus GS.

My mechanic has a ton of these lying around as he only works on Toyota/Lexus. I may look at swapping one over onto my old unit as well for a backup! I guess the SC and GS have a similar setup. He pulls them from salvage lots given the number of SC and GS's he sees its always good to have the part for cheap.

Yep, it’s been a few weeks since I installed the unit and its working great! The accumulator is slightly smaller on the GS so it kicks on a little more than the 100 but not much. Overall I’m happy for a complete fix for $50. Especially considering I think the unit I pulled from the junk yard was relatively new.

* I used the entire booster and master cyclinder. Swapped over the reservoir and changed the direction of two of the lines on the passenger side of the master.
