Hey guys! I just signed up for this forum.

I’ve got a 1978 Fj40 that having some issues i can’t wrap my head around.
Let me explain….i take it to work (15 mins drive) and the truck runs mint. Then truck sits for 9 hours….while i’m on my way home the truck begins to chug like crazy and just wants to die. Mean while when i park it at home the carb bowl has fuel in it. I’ve got a fuel pump on the way but was wondering if you guys had any suggestions of what the issue may be and/or how to fix it?

Thanks everyone! Happy wheelin’🤙

Is it all downhill on the way to work and all uphill on the way back?
Most common and easiest fix is a new fuel filter

how would that cause it to run well on the way there but not on the way back?
A long uphill climb requires more fuel than a long downhill. If fuel flow is restricted or inadequate the engine is starved of fuel
