I've checked the threads...nothing...am I the only LX owner to contemplate rattle-canning the chrome "framing" around the rear license plate to a flat or semi? If the doors have to be opened up, might just try masking instead.

thank you sir! Off to work.Iirc, it's adhesive and two tabs. Mine is black now.
Kabanstva,
Can you post a pic of the back of the new trim?
I did it today - rare 60+ degree day in PNW...I ended up popping the upper frame -ez to remove w/blow dryer, but masking off the lowers. The upper has two very thin plastic pins, I broke one AFTER extracting in safely. The rigth side in the photo. Really just for alignment, as the adhesive is what is holding it in. I think the finished look is slightly better than the chrome, but not as nice as I was hoping for. (The front grill, inho, looks best of all.) Might try for a paint match to the Mica grey next time on the rear.Iirc, it's adhesive and two tabs. Mine is black now.

@OregonB this trim surrounding my license plate has been loose on mine since I bought in in May. Looks like the top right clip is broken. Your photos are gone from this thread, any chance you have advice for removing the piece or replacing the clips? Or is it just some double sided tape will solve the problem?
