I’m looking to replace my choke cable as the plastic threads on the end of the cable that thread through the dash have snapped off.

I understand the later model FJ60 cable has the electronic switch integrated, but does anyone here know if the newer style cable will fit an early FJ60? More specifically, if it will fit through the hole in the dash? If I can just replace with the newer style and leave the switch disconnect I’d be plenty happy.

Thanks

AFAIK the choke cable will fit fine, I thought all 81+ had the choke light on the guage cluster??

save your knob, new cables are available but the knob is NLA

No, I think anything pre 10/1982 does not have a light on the dash...at least mine does not. There is a different part number for the early choke cable, but that part is NLA. I would assume the newer cable would fit, but I thought I’d ask before I dropped $70 on one to see.

the 8/80-9/82 has a 10mm D groove Shaft male threads

9/82-9/83 Amber Lit Cable info is spotty at best ?

9/83-9/87 should be a 83710-90a04

the D-Groove shaft hole jumps to a 14mm in 9/82 .............

my pro-dates might be off a Tad ....

the whole Amber lit knob thing frustrates me because the AU and General

Spec. markets , all had It and we were kept in the dark as usual ........
