Same reason they make replicas of Rolexes and not Casios.why didnt they copy fords chevies....dodge....
Reliable is the key. I’ve seen copied 80’s and 100’s here in Angola. When I say copied, I mean straight up reverse engineered and made a duplicate with different badging. They give away that it’s a copy, besides the badging is that it looks like an 80 or 100, but the body lines are all askew. The doors, hood, rear door, etc all shift and the vertical and horizontal lines aren’t true front to back or top to bottom. They don’t last on the rough roads. For anyone who knows what a Hiace is (Toyota minivan), there are loads of Chinese copies of those. Next time I see one of the cruiser copies, I‘ll have to take a picture and post up.To be honest I fully welcome ALL countries and manufacturers to copy Land Cruiser as long as its Body on frame construction. I hope they can improve on Toyotas weaknesses. This is such an awesome vehicle it needs to be copied and kept alive. I love the hybrid option and wish for electric option using the new 10 min rechargable lithium batteries.
If it were available for $46,000 in USA and was reliable I'd be a fan.
