Hello folks. Selling my 1996 Lexus LX450. I bought it a few months ago from the dealer that took it from the original owner. I had intentions of turning it into an expedition type truck. I have the same disease that I'm sure many of you have and take on too many projects with motors.

She is very nice. I am going to list the good and the bad. Please feel free to email me with questions and I will answer them as timely as I can. The vehicle is located in Charleston, SC and you are free to come see her.

Good:

Clean title, Reman. long block 25,000 miles ago. All electronic accessories work as they should with the exception of the passenger seat which is intermittent. New tires. Drives and rides great. No leaks, noises, smoke, or smells. She has a huge binder of service records. 3rd row seats perfect.

Bad: a few very small dings and scratches. The mentioned passenger seat power. New front rotors and pads but needs the rear too, it has a pulsation with hard braking. A/C blows cool but not cold. The compressor is coming on, so I will attempt a recharge and update. ****** Update: Charged the A/C and she is now ice cold!!********

And to clarify: 255,377 miles on the chassis / body / drivetrain. approx. 25,000 miles on reman engine. I do drive it every now and then so it will have a few more miles on it.

Thanks for looking!

More pictures..... No rust except a small dime sized spot on a front bumper scratch. She is exceptional. Asking $8000 OBO. I can help deliver within 200 miles of Charleston for a fuel fee of course. I work strange hours and will get answers to questions as soon as I can. She is also on eBay and craigslist if you wish to see her there.

Thanks again guys!

Seems like a pretty good deal for a remanned engine 80 series. GLWS!

It was not a rebuild. It is a remand unit from Jasper. Looking through the service records, I cannot find a reason for the new motor other than the truck hit 200K and I think the owner just did it. It was done at a private shop in Northern Virginia that the original owner was obviously loyal to.

Thanks!,
Brian

I just bought a 97 with 198,000 miles, Slee front bumper, OME 3.5" lift, 35" MTR's, and factory e-lockers for $7500 that has a little better paint and interior. I couldn't see spending $7,600 on this one. If you were in the $4,000 to $4,500 it would probably sell. If you get there let me know and I may be interested in a second project. Hopefully this does not offend.
