i will be changing out the Controller & Junction Instrument module in my LC in the morning. From what I understand the process is very simple. My LC is a 2000 but will be replacing it with one from a 99 (I was told this would be ok). My question is, do I need to disconnect the battery before doing this? Thanks in advance.

I forgot to add that I’m changing this part out because my rear wiper won’t shut off if I turn it on. I have it disconnected at the wiper motor to keep it from staying on.

Disconnect the battery whenever you are working on/disconnecting an electric part/wiring on the vehicle. The vehicle has fuses but regardless, better be safe than sorry.
