charging battery in place?

    HI! Can I charge my battery in place without removing the cables? (1971 FJ-40)

    No trick question, I was not sure if it could be bad for the voltage regulator or anything else. I'm no electrical wiz... sorry :rolleyes:

    Should be fine. I've done it on my rig with a trickle charger a few times without any issues.

    No I am sorry man - I didn't mean to be a tool.

    I would only charge with your key and accesories "OFF".

    I put mine on the trickle charger every few weeks. I think my carb cooling fan runs the battery down and then my little 55 amp alternator doesn't charge all the way back up without that boost. Not sure how much memory a lead/acid battery has...
