I've been getting the P2418 code, and occasionally the P0446. Inspected the charcoal canister valve and I've got a lot of corrosion around it so it is suspect. But as far as I can tell, from inspecting the part and looking at picture of it on Partsouq, the valve is built into the canister such that to replace the valve, you'd have to replace the whole canister.

In some threads on this forum, some have speculated that you could substitute the part sold for the VSV in the engine bay for the valve at the canister. But they have different spec resistances in the FSM.

So the question: has anyone put a valve at the charcoal canister to perform the function of the built in valve, and just zip tied it on? Canister is a $300 part. Valve is around $50. If anyone has done this, what part number/valve did you use?

TIA
