I was conflicted whether this should be in the TLCA discussion section or the TT section, but I thought it more a TLCA chapter issue than just a TT issue.

Is there a cost associated for a chapter to run an ad in TT if it is not a TLCA sanctioned event?

If so, are the costs the same as the business ad price schedule?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm curious -- What type of event would want Trails advertising that isn't sanctioned? We have open event sanctions, Rally events, etc.

We are planning what would be termed a rally event, i.e. a swap meet. We are already behind the power curve regarding requesting TLCA approval, so I need the info to make a decision.

In the past, the events that received advertising were sanctioned events. There are two advantages to a club to sanction their event. #1 is access to insurance, and #2 is an ad in Toyota Trails. In exchange, the club agreed to send TLCA 10% of the net proceeds from their event.

So, in a way, the Clubs do pay for advertising, but the amount is far less than what an advertiser would pay.

Why don't you send a note to Perry Lowery, and see if we can make it sanctioned, and get it into Trails.

When is the event?

Thanks for the information. Chris H. and Todd K. have also been very helpful.

We are already behind the power curve on this so we are going to settle for a listing on the unsanctioned events calendar in TT this time around.

The event is a swap meet April 12th at Iron Pig Off-Road. There will be much more info coming to this and other forums very soon.

Cheers,
Stump

I stand corrected. All events are "sponsored" events. Rally is the one that would apply.

It's moot now, but it's good to get it cleared up. From the SOP link:

1. TLCA Board Approval of qualifying events shall be termed Sponsored. A TLCA Sponsored event shall be categorized into the following types:
a. Hosted
b. Sanctioned
c. Open
d. Rally
e. Restricted
f. Limited
