Since it’s been snowing off and on today and feels like it’s only 9* outside I’ve been tinkering around and decided to mock up some rock light brackets. Hopefully it warms up enough later this week I can actually make a few.

Since I overdid it yesterday on yard work I took it easy today and fabbed up the light brackets. Still have to decided on where to mount them and then play around with the angles.

Well it's been a year since I last updated my itemized expense spreadsheet. It's been an expensive year . Good thing I keep this spreadsheet at work and the wife doesn't look on Mud.

Farbicobbed a carling switch panel together as I’ve run out of dash spots. This will also allow me to redo some of my old novice wiring and clean things up. There’s enough room under the switches I could move my voltmeter and install more USB ports.

In order for the panel to fit with my old style @bhicks cup holders the bottom needed to be trimmed and the cup holder moved closer to the seat. Luckily I had already trimmed it a long time ago to be able to fit Yeti style cups in it without them hitting my ham/cb radio buttons.

Replaced the shaft seal and steering coupling, well past due.

Feel any better?
It does feel a little tighter now. I still have some play but it's in the gearbox and inherit setup of the 80's steering.

Still playing with the dash panel, it will be a while before I can get it wired up. Been thinking about changing my current wiring setup and building a new quarter panel mount.

Also decided to make a prototype 2nd row floor storage. This is to level the floor for sleeping in the cabin. I’d prefer the final design to be made from aluminum if possible.

Today also marks one year to the day we left the Republic of California and moved to the Midwest. Truly do miss all our friends, the local TLCA chapter, the wheeling and camping opportunities, and good Mexican food.

I miss good mexican food 😏
But at least you're close enough to the coast still to be able to get some decent clam chowder. My favorite has always been from the 'lil hut in Morro Bay.

Try La Fonda El Taquito down on Southwest Boulevard........

That street has many Mexican Restaurants that are NOT chains......

@chap79 now that you’ve got some miles on them, how have the Slinkys settled in? You lost about 1-1.5” from the previous springs, did you undo any of the supporting suspension mods for the lower static height, or keep them for the additional travel?

I honestly haven't noticed much settling yet, my truck measures at 24.5" from hub to flare at every corner. That said, the truck is currently empty and is not driven daily. The 2nd and 3rd rows are removed, jerry cans are removed, high lift off. The is about 80lbs of crap between the Puma compressor, tools, and recovery gear still in the back and 115 lbs for the spare hanging off the back. Dual battery, tube bumper, and M8000 still up front.

I have a long 3500+ mile trip coming up in the very near future that will include about 400 miles of off-roading so I'll be able to give some much better feedback.

I did adjust the rear lower control arms to shorten them to keep the rear driveshaft within proper angles and still need to extend my front swaybar drops another .5" to be a total of 2.5" so that the front driveshaft does not hit it while pinned up using LCP's disconnect. everything else is still where it was before to keep the 37's from rubbing too much

Slinky heavies or mediums?

Slinky heavies or mediums?
Heavies of course. You know the truck is built for the trail, not pavement. I really don't care if it feels stiff when everything is stripped out of it and it's sitting empty; looking forlorn like a shelter animal. Just waiting for the opportunity to hit the dirt and stretch it's legs.
