Today my front heater hose sprung a leak. Is there any way to replace it without draining the entire system?

Pre cut your new hose one section at a time...slip new hose clamps on each end.

Work both ends of the old hose loose...so it will easily slip off.

Remove the old hose, one end at a time, slip on the new hose, one end at a time. Hardly any mess.

Can someone tell me what the ID of the hose should be?

I used 5/8" ID. Be sure to use higher quality heater hose so you will not have to do this again for a long time. Goodyear is known to last. I bought my heater hose at a specialty brake shop.

On the driver side engine block (F engine) their is a valve that closes the flow to the heater block. I still lost about 1-2 quarts of coolant from hose and flow back.
