Just trying to settle a small debate here. Was the center difflock switch a factory option from 93-97? I say it was. THere is some question that it was only offered 91-92 and you have to get a switch out of a early 80 series to have that in 93-97. Both of the 93 FZJ I owned had them. Thanks

The CDL feature has always been standard, but the switch was unavailable as an option on domestic Cruisers after 92. The CDL just automaticall came on when the transfer was put in low.

Your friend is partly wrong, though, as the switch from earlier Cruisers will not fit in 95-97 models. Those switches were standard in overseas models, and have been brought over here by vendors like sleeoffroad.com

Their website doesn't seem to be up right now so I can't show you the difference.

The 95-97 switches look like this:

didn't somebody say that one can use the emergency light switch for the CDL as well?

My OEM switch came from C-Dan.:D
