looked to buy a 2001, super clean but someone put an aftermarket wood trim kit all over the dash, console, air vents, and back of center console. some pieces were loose on the edges, how hard would it be to remove so that it would be clean. Would the goof off discolor the original parts? I posted earlier thinking that this truck had an original dash kit but everything is press on double sided tape?
Usually a heat gun while CAREFULLY prying up from a corner will remove the woodtrim, and may even lift a majority of the adhesive with the trim (as long as the heat isnt too hot, which causes the adhesive to liquify and then it is a ROYAL pain to get all that muck off of there, even with goof off or otherwise... )
My best advice is..try to get a "feel" for the material you are removing, and how much heat is needed to allow the adhesive to release from the panel...
BTW.the longer the wood has been on there the harder it is to remove, and may even take the underlying panel`s color/texture with it...
